Slowly getting there, Got both doors ready to be fitted. Should be doing the roof tomorrow. Have decided im not going to fold the roof sheets around the roof frame and just cut it to the shape of the frame and seal it on there. Anyone see any disadvantage in this? Also whats people opinions on how many latches each side for the doors? They are fairly sturdy and not very flexible at all. was thinking of just putting the one latch in the middle of each door. Im using the drop T latches. BTW price for the locking bar that pins both ends of the doors is dearer then another latch

Looks wicked mate.
I would probably fold it over like a lid then silicon and weld it in place. Just for peace of mind.

On my tool boxes 1900 long. I have 3 of the compression latches.

If I just lock the middle one an open the other 2. I can flex the door enough to pop the locked latch and open the box. If they all are locked. No chance of getting in.

My canopy I will be going for the central tee handle and the sliding bars.

Ease of one lock to open and close. Plus the added security.

Thanks Fellas :)

I think i might go how you suggested Earl, Just fold the top over once and throw 2 latches on the doors. Once thats sorted time to start playing around with the actuators and bed

Id be going the 2 latches each as well Ross, mine has them and it feels more solid. Its going to help eliminate vibrations, rattle over time as well.

Good points, thanks :) I suppose I mosse well do it properly, $125 for extra security and sealing would be worth it

Just to confuse you I would do one lock with the slide bars but the good teardrop cam type. That is what I have and would do the same again if I built a new one. Warrens one is the same as well

Yer ive decided to go the bars, I don't think there will be anything for them to jam on and if they do i wont have a divider in the canopy so i can get to them from the other side. Would love central locking But imjust gonna follow the kiss rule for the doors.

Going down to ovesco today, i dont think this will end well for the back pocket :?

Picked up the new project off a mate today  He had a Mitchell tray off a navara he was gonna put on his lux but got over it. It's seen better days with plenty of rust but a flap disk and sandblast should sort it out. Head board is to short for my cab so Im picking up a new 3" headboard hop from Obeico in Tamworth on Friday. Might start cleaning it up this week and see how much work there actually is

Its a rust inhibitor here's an extract.
Penetrol Anti-Rust Control

Penetrol makes it easy to control rust

What makes rust?

Ordinary paint and primers "bridge" over the small imperfections found on any metal surface. Under this "bridge" air is trapped. Air contains moisture and this mixture of oxygen and hydrogen forms iron-hydroxide i.e. rust. Take one of them away and you eliminate rust. Under a microscope rust looks like a sponge full of air. Penetrol, due to its low surface tension will penetrate all the way through this sponge driving out the air and moisture and completely saturate the rust right down to the unattacked iron or steel. It has literally taken away the "food" rust needs to form and, by turning the existing rust into a protective coating, further rust formation is stopped and the paint is assured of 100% contact with the metal surface, the most important requirement for effective metal protection.

Penetrol works and that's why it is used and recommended by people working in the roughest environment of all, the world's major shipping companies.

Use Penetrol on structural steel, cast and wrought iron, wire fences, cars, trucks and trailers, corrugated iron, garden tools, tanks and anything made from ferrous or non-ferrous metal. Penetrol flows easily into crevices, welding seams, pipe joints and other areas that are hard to reach by brush, such as the inside of car doors.
