What suspension lift

Postby jogal on Fri Dec 19, 2014 8:13 pm

Hey all just bought a 200 Gxl and was seeing what suspension people have used in their cars? It seems a lot of people are using ome but coming from always owning Hiluxs they have never been rated. What are everyone's thoughts?

Congratulations on the buy mate. I can't speak so much on the 200 but alot of us 70 series owners are very happy with the service and product from ultimate suspension.
After watching what the all4adventure boys put their 200s through EFS looks pretty tuff.

Yeah id like to to ultimate but being in Perth it's not going to happen. I've spoken to the guys at WA Suspension over here they recommend billies and lovels , kit worth about $2500 and Ome which seems very popular is about $1700 . Not sure which way to go. My current Hilux I had A tough Dog kit installed from new which lasted 100 thou before I had to replace it so won't be going down that path again.

Do billies still have a life time warranty?

Pppfffttt! when did they have a lifetime warranty?
I had them on my Hilux and they were fantastic on road but in retrospect were a bit harsh off road and I had a number of rears leak on me. They were pretty average with their warranty and even initially said to me I only had 3 months warranty as I had used them off road WTF!!
I had to pay to replace one set of rears as I was heading off to the Simpson in a few days and needed them in a hurry and they rebuilt them a second time under warranty begrudgingly less than 12 months later

That was a bit disappointing given they are a premium priced product made in Germany but they were a great onroad touring shock

Go ultimate mate and if your not confident in fitting it. Get your local mechanic to fit.

100km is pretty good I would say. But I don't know what style of driving you do.

Poor alby. Poor poor alby.

Yes I would at least give Ultimate a call to discuss your suspension, if nothing else you will have gained some valuable knowledge to help you decide on a product.
