Replacing diff on 100 series

Postby Attom on Tue Feb 28, 2017 6:50 am

Hi All, I recently bought a 2000 lx470. It was in an accident that the rear axle took the brunt of. I need to replace it with a used axle and was thinking about getting a diff from a 98 or 99 with the locker. Are there any figment issues? Is wiring in the switch complicated? Also, I recall reading somewhere that the rear diff in 2000-04s was a torsen, but can't find anything to verify that. Did the 00-04 models come with an open diff or lsd? If the factory diff is limited slip a may just stay with it.
