Catch can caught something

Postby russell.veivers on Sun Jan 17, 2016 1:49 pm

Cruiser is due for its service and it's been about 5000km's with a Taipan catch can fitted. Hearing some people say their can did nothing and others got plenty, I was a anxious to see if mine did any good.
After cracking the tap open I was disappointed to see nothing drain out so I left it open and done something else. When I came back it had drained some really thick oil out, about 100mls worth. Was thinking maybe people who had no result out of theirs may be better off leaving the tap open next time for 15 minutes of they hadn't tried that already?

Pic is after I drained off the liquid that sat on top, another half of that or so, so all that is just oil

Done 30,000 now

It catches a lot surprisingly, can't imagine how bad it would be inside the intake without it

best thing to get the oil out of the can is to take the bung out and start the engine the slight pressure pushes the oil out quickly. Leave it idling for 5 min.
