Diff Breather setup

The diff breather set up is pretty basic which ever way you go, probably the biggest pita is getting the front locker into the other tube which Earl had some good points on how to do. If your not confident get a price off ARB to do the install. You do over think things a tad.

Help needed, just about to do mine before Easter, how do I do transfer case and gear box, how do you get to where it goes to bell housing or do people just join to exsisting line?

Just join to the nipple where it comes out of the top of the transfer case. That eliminates using any of the old line. Easy to get to

Is this nipple just for transfer case? Where is this nipple located, sorry for questions read threw all post and am lost. Lol. My hilux was a little easier

Thanks donkt so I take that of and attached my breather hose to that nipple? And does that nipple cover the transfer case and gear box also what do I do with the hose I take off? Will that end need to go into my breather setup? Thanks in advanced just don't want to f**k it up!

Hi guys. Here is a list of everything I used materials wise for the front and rear diffs, front and rear lockers. And gearbox/transfer case.

I used a 4 port breather kit that I mounted under the bonnet.


The rear diff and locker were teed into one breather line and ran up to the front of the car. All hoses held with cable ties.

-Diff breathers (front and rear)
1/8 bsp - 6mm push connect Qty 2

Remove factory breather hose setup. Screw new fitting in place. Easiest of all of them.
Front:

Rear:


-Diff locks. (Front and rear)
1/8 barb - 1/8 bsp Qty 2
1/8 bsp female - 6mm push connect Qty 2
6mm push connect tee piece

-Rear locker
Breather can be found above the rear diff lock held in place in a clip. I cut the 3mm hose and installed the 1/8 barb and 6mm push connect fitting.





Front locker
The breather didn't have a fitting on the end of the piping. Weird. Just a little rubber cab with a slit in it.


So I cut about 60mm off the rear lockers hose and slipped it over the front lockers piping. (Its a tight fit) I did the same as the rear locker fittings wise 1/8 barb and 6mm push connect fitting.



-Gearbox/transfer case
(Havnt completed yet. Hose been run. Didn't get around to it today)

6mm barb - 1/8 bsp
8-12mm hose clamp
1/8 bsp female - 6mm push connect.
6mm nylon tube 12meters (had a meter left over)


All materials were purchased from my local enzed fluid transfer shop. Costing $56.80

Yeah I did for about a foot and coulndent don't the end that is the black tube with numbers 6001. Just wanted to know if that is the breather and if I can just cut it and join. Left hand side of tube seems to go in housing and the right hand side keeps going

Still trying to locate front locker breather with slit in it, how much of the black tape do you undo? I did about a foot a couldnet find the rubber cap with slit in it. Cheers fellas

Finally found the front locker breather, so if your looking for it it runs up into the engine bay, follow black taped conduit and it should be sticker out about half a meter along the conduit in the bottom of engine bay. Look at the oil dip stick (yellow) and it's directly below that about 80mm.
